LAS Writes is a curatorial initiative committed to building cultural ecosystems and expanding critical discourse, promoting arts and culture education and appreciation among post-graduates, early-careerists, and emerging professionals.
LAS Writes is composed of a LAS Writes URL, a digital platform on our substack where we welcome the submission of all forms of written contributions, and LAS Writes IRL, a series of monthly workshops where participants examine and synthesise the intersection of art, activism, culture, self-care, politics, and power.
The initiative is an ongoing exploration of how to make a creative environment, and how to form a healthy way of skepticism towards contemporary culture. We hope to build a platform where people can curate their own viewing experiences rather than have the artist define their experience for them.
LAS Writes URL
LAS Writes URL is a digital platform that welcomes all forms of written contributions ranging from essays to fiction, from theory to poetry. Our aim is to emancipate writers from traditional publishing formats, embrace prototypes, the unfinished, and alternative formats of knowledge production.

LAS Writes IRL
In an age of digital excess, novelty shifts back towards the IRL. LAS Writes IRL aims to develop a format of education rooted in hospitality, creating a space where participants can collectively reflect on the pockets of resistance within the arts amid an era of widespread multi-crisis. Reflecting on oneself in daily life is, in itself, a form of artistic expression.
The chosen themes and materials of each workshop will introduce ways to foster awareness of oneself, the other, and the broader context that we live in. By transforming moments of consumption into moments of care, these discussions would enable us to express ourselves while willing to actually see what is happening.
