*OPEN CALL* Live until 15.09.26
Office Politcs: Tales for an anxious culture

After April’s successful showcase of literary talent; LAS_Writes_IRL returns!

And is a focused open call encouraging writers to craft essays and prose based on corporate intrigue, drama and aesthetics.

Office romances, tensions, projections of growth, moments of capitalist fury, takeover and acceleration are rich subject matter that have the possibility of forming writing drenched in hostility, seduction and competition.

We accept all forms of writing and encourage longer form performances \ readings.

LASwrites_IRL at London Art Services (LAS), in Deptford, brings this approach into the gallery space: a live writing forum where voices become an embodied reading experience. The event will take place in September 2026.

As before, we’re looking for experimental, progressive narratives, theory-fiction, non-fiction, autofiction and academic writing.

Alongside more traditional forms, impromptu and subversive approaches are encouraged; especially work that challenges archaic narratives, disturbs linearity, and sparks new synapses.

HOW TO APPLY

To be considered for the curated lineup, please email writing.las@gmail.com with:

a brief introduction to yourself and your writing practice (3–5 lines),

a short description of the piece you’d like to read,

any text/excerpts you’d like to perform (you can provide a link to your work, too), plus any audiovisual needs you’d like to request for your performance; we encourage contributors to use the space to its fullest extent, utilising projectors, the audience, speakers and props when appropriate.

You can perform voice-only or with sound (digital or live), and we also accept proposals with visual elements (projections, images, etc.).

The deadline for submissions is September 15th.
The reading night will take place on September 23rd.

All performed texts will be featured in the LAS Writes archive online.

Organised by Fabrizio Previti and Charlie Ford, LAS Writes is a dedicated space for writing in all its creative forms

Progressing through an open-call basis, the project welcomes written contributions ranging from essays to fiction, from theory to poetry. It emancipates writers from traditional publishing formats, embracing prototypes, the unfinished, and alternative formats of knowledge production.

Within the existing ecosystem of traditional publishers and editorial projects, LAS Writes aims to produce something on the edge of the acceptable. It is not a model of self-publishing, but a curatorial platform that employs voice as a form of publication.

Each chapter culminates in LASwrites_IRL, an event hosted in our gallery space that showcases our most recent contributions. It brings together different voices, texts, and practices, creating a space for listening, experimentation, and exchange.

We welcome every organism, particle, and presence connected to writing as extension, movement, and a stretching exercise of the self.

If you have writing you would like to share, please submit it to writing.las@gmail.com
